Happy new week dear friend!
Like many of you, I have been glued to my TV admiring and cheering various sportsmen on this past week. After so many years, I find the Olympics becoming better and more exciting with new disciplines etc. Even though some names and items have performed as expected I cannot help but express my awe and admiration when some unexpected sportsmen and teams win first place.
These surprises had me thinking about the effort we put in, in reading our goals. These athletes have been training for at least 4 years some many more, to get here and it is one defining moment that makes them recognised by the world. Nobody except their loved ones, coaches and team members see how much they put into this before the D-Day and now we sit on the sidelines and cheer them on. The first-timers have also been working as hard as the seasoned athletes and so I find it extremely refreshing seeing them win medals as well.
Just like working towards our dreams and goals, we might not be seeing any huge changes daily but with consistency and hard work, one day we will reach it. Comparing our actions to the 4 years of constant training to get to the OL, we do not know who or what we will be up against but we need to work as if we have what it takes because we do. It might seem daunting thinking of the established business or people who already have what we want but I am reminded that they too started somewhere without having it all figured out. The defining character was their determination and consistency and that is true of the Olympic athletes as well as for you and me.
So, I would like to encourage you that if you are at a place in your journey where things seem a bit challenging remember the newcomers in the Olympics this year. Those who are making waves for the first time and know that your season will also come if you do not quit prematurely.
I hope you take this as motivation to keep on going and taking action even the smallest will help. As I normally say, the time it will take will eventually pass anyway so why not make it count. I’d love to hear what your experience with the Olympics has been so far so do share your thoughts in the comments.
Have a great week.
Love & light
