How many times have you experienced something and just dismissed it with a that’s a coincidence?
Well I bet many times but I choose to see coincidences as God-wink moments, yes if you know me you know I am spiritual so I find meaning in everything I encounter or try to. When we sometimes consciously or unconsciously ask for help we don’t pay much attention because it’s not to a physical being, but the good old book has a verse that goes - Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asks receives.
Today is no different and as I write this I am reflecting on a few experiences where my God-wink moments were too surreal to be dismissed. A couple of years back I was looking at taking a mentorship programme and I was £500 short of my investment so I prayed and meditated over it and desperately threw a question out to God, the universe, anyone out there who could hear and help that I really could use an extra £500 now to invest in myself. After my meditation I got up to start making dinner, as I was in the process a notification appeared on my phone, I swiped and it took me straight to the vault of my online bank and I kid you not I almost screamed when I saw what I saw. This vault which was set up as change vault as in whenever I purchased with my card whatever change I would have received in coins is multiplied by 2 and then moved to the vault. I had forgotten I had this function turned on so for the previous three years prior to that day it had been accumulating and I had £482 in the vault. I could not believe this I started singing and then said out loud THANK YOU, this is what I was just asking for, was that a coincidence well maybe and I was very grateful for this coincidence.
Then a couple of months ago I had to travel back home, when buying the train ticket I had the option of one getting me to the airport an 2 hours to departure or 3 hours before. I didn’t have any luggage to check in so I wanted to go for the 2 hour wait but then I had the strongest feeling to book the 3 hour wait instead. I booked this after a lot of back and forth with myself, so on the day of the travel everything was going smoothly until we were 3 stops to the main station where we had to change for the airport train and the train stopped.
Then the announcement came through that the main station was congested due to an earlier incident and other trains running late were now getting ready to leave so we had to wait for some time before we could get into the main station. 5 minutes turned to 15 then to 30 and then a whole hour. By now people were panicking as they had to make it on time and through security to catch their flights, my flight was now 2 hours away. We got to the airpot after an hour and half, I went through security and waited a good 40 minutes before doors to my gate was opened.
I took a deep breath when I sat down and said THANK YOU! Was this another coincidence well it definitely was a God-wink that saw me through what could have been a very stressful situation. These two examples are just a few of many experiences that I particularly pay attention to and do not take lightly, and if I am honest being mindful of such things and showing appreciation for them, be it some extra cash or a save in a chaotic situation have given me a better appreciation for the events in my life.
I was at a point during my journey getting frustrated when we were stuck on the train tracks but going out earlier meant I could still get there on time, had I taken the latter train I definitely would have missed my flight. I know sometimes when we experience such events we let the annoyance get the better part of us but I want to encourage you to become more mindful of the little nudges, disruptions and diversions that later present themselves as coincidences for we never know what we are being protected from or what is being given to us. As one great teacher - Wayne Dyer said once,
“In mathematics, two angles that are said to coincide fit together perfectly. The word "coincidence" does not describe luck or mistakes. It describes that which fits together perfectly.”
I’d love to hear your experience of any coincidences that you’ve encountered that has made an impact on you so kindly do share in the comments.
