I repotted my plants the other day and as I moved them from pot to pot I couldn’t help but notice the baby shoots sprouting. I smiled and thought to myself this is progress no matter how small and this is what I want to acknowledge in today’s newsletter. Recently, I have come to appreciate and celebrate the little steps I take towards my goals more than I have ever before because celebrating these make me see how far I have come and give me inspiration to take more action.
Progress will look different to each one of us and for me it looks like sticking to a to-do list and making sure everything is done for the set time or getting in touch with one or two suppliers or reaching out to potential clients. It can also look like keeping to my training plan and consistently going to the gym according to the programme even when I don’t eellike it or making my first sale or making multiple sales.
Progress falls into different forms for me and so when I look back over my day, week and month and I haven’t accomplished the big goal, being human I can also get discouraged and frustrated but this little bud here is just a great reminder to me that progress comes in all shapes and sizes, and need not always be the huge in-your-face moments that are only acknowledged.
This brings me so much joy for just like the fingers on our hands aren’t all equal but are all equally important so is the concept of progress for every bit of it is a part of the bigger picture. I am not sure where you are at with things you are wishing to accomplish or achieve but wherever you are I want you to make a mental note right now of 5 things about this thing that you’ve done today to move your needle closer to achieving it and acknowledge yourself for them.
Could it be that you researched and got more information on starting?
Or that you walked to the shop rather than take the car?
Or you chose a healthier option for a meal or snack?
Or you made a to-do list that now gives you a clear view of all that you have to do?
Whatever little action taking with the right intention know that these are what cumulate to the big achievement and this is progress.
So here are a five things I want to acknowledge as I write this.
I am grateful for being consistent and finishing another weekly newsletter
I am grateful for completing a mastermind call this morning as well
I am grateful for making a list of all the things I need to complete today and for the week
I am grateful for being able to batch cook and meal prep for the week
I am grateful that I have stayed consistent with the new training program 3 weeks now.
Yes the list can go on and none of these things are huge in themselves but I know they are all leading toward the different goals and that is progress. So for today look back on you week and acknowledge all that you have done that is helping you achieve that goal and be grateful for the progress you have made no matter how small.
I’d love to hear about any of your progress made this week so feel free to share in the comments.
Affirmation: I am grateful for every little progress made towards my goal.
