Lesson 6 In the Science of Getting Rich: How Riches Come to You
The desire you feel for riches is the infinite, seeking to express Himself in you - Wallace D. Wattles
The main lesson I have found in this book, all the many times I have read it is that thinking and feeling abundance is the root to riches and wealth. This way of thinking isn’t very common especially in recent times where we see markets and industries being saturated or crashing. However, in this chapter the author emphasises on what it takes for riches to come to us and I will explore the key take aways in three points.
Thought being the only power that can produce tangible results form original substance
In lesson 4 we explored the power of thoughts in creating tangible results and so here I will like to go further and demonstrate how this works with regards to riches coming to us. In everyday circumstances we are made to look at what the reality of our current circumstances, let say what the competitor is doing so we can do similar to gain their market share or beat them, this mindset is mostly based on lack. We think that there isn’t enough to go around and so finding ways to undercut the competition is what we focus on but there is a better way. A way of actually using our thoughts to create more rather than compete. When we ask the question - how can I add more value to my customer or clients and not how can I get more customers or clients we move from the competitive plane to the creative domain. We begin to find ways to make our services or products better and as our customers experience these we receive more repeat business and referrals. For we seek to enrich the lives of others and by the natural law, as we give so shall we receive. So, the power of thought is being able to direct our thinking in ways that gets us from the competitive mindset onto the creative domain where ideas to increase life leads to riches finding us.
Acting in a Certain Way
The mention of acting in a Certain Way has been made previously and this will be explored in detail in a later chapter however, it is worth mentioning it again as it has a very important place in how riches come to us. The idea of acting in a Certain Way was quite difficult for me to grasp until I understood the Natural Laws of the Universe. Understanding these laws shed more light on how this Certain Way was to be integrated in my life and can be in yours as well. When we accept that our actions are guided by the laws and that what we put in is what we get so if you put in little effort you reap little results; and not all situations last forever, things will change just like seasons so we need to remember that there is a time for everything. Or if things don’t go according to our plan and remain as we desire, we are more able to take action regardless of circumstances, we can trust that the time for a plan to manifest is hidden from us all and sometimes we might miss by a month or a year but this doesn’t mean we have to give up. The natural laws give us perspective on the changes in life and as such in order for riches to come to us we need to act in whatever environment we find ourselves with whatever we have. Most of the time we seek to have everything in perfect order before we take action or we dream of a change without taking action but if we understand that if we want to see riches we need to work in accordance with the laws, we then start choosing our thoughts consciously and taking actions towards our desire. In doing so we suddenly realise we are acting in a Certain Way, a way that leads to being in tune with the one true source. If you want to learn more about the Natural Laws of the Universe regarding riches read this. Now putting all these together we must be in alignment.
Aligning our thoughts, actions and mindset to the creative power of the universe.
For non spiritual people this might sound woo woo but it is not. This just means being conscious of what we think about, actively taking action on our desires regardless of circumstances and keeping an open mind ready to receive inspiration that might even deviate from our plan of action. For the longest time I have believed that when you get an idea to do something or a desire for something that will enrich your life and the lives of others it is God/Source answering your prayer for help. I sometimes tell my clients and friends when they are overthinking instead of taking action that when you have the brilliant idea and you don’t act on it for a long time God/Source takes it and gives it to someone willing to work on it. This is a saying I have believed in and got reinforced when I read Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert a couple of years ago, where she also talks about ideas leaving one person to another when they don’t act on it. The reason I bring this in is sometimes we ask for Devine help and instead of acting on it when we get an idea we procrastinate or try to figure everything out. I have tried so many times, trying to figure everything our before starting or overthinking stuff but in those years I have learnt, how much time I wasted worrying and trying to figure it all out instead of trusting and taking a step at a time with my mind on the desired goal. That is why I created my ideas book which I normally note down all ideas I get and answer my 4 questions about them and then decide to or when to take action on them. For riches to come to us we need to understand that what we desire is to be to the good of all and to the harm of none, when this is at the core of our desires, what we have left is to have faith and believe that with focused thinking, clarity on our desires and inspired action there is no way riches can’t come to us.
So, I will like to leave you with at thought: Riches are not meant for a particular race or gender but for us all however, the ability to acquire wealth is to be able to focus our thoughts, think of how we can create to add value to the lives of others and be open and ready to work with the creative power, God/Source. Now my challenge to you after reading this is to think of how you in your current employment/business/dealings can add value without trying to outplay someone else or competing for the same s someone has. If this has resonated I would love to hear your thoughts so do share in the comments.
