Serendipity is one of my favourite words and experience as well. I don’t know about you but whenever I encounter a god-wink or serendipitous moment, I am once again reminded of how much God and the Universe have my back.Today’s newsletter is inspired by a dear friend who pointed out I could share my experience in my newsletter, she was right and so here it is.
I had been looking to buy 2 perfumes from 2 very distinct English boutique perfumeries. Just because I am literarily obsessed with very distinct not-on-the -high-street scents. I knew one of them had a branch of their boutique in the city centre but the other, for as far as I was concerned was only located in London. As these perfumes aren’t hughstreet brands I couldn’t get a chance to walk into a departmental store to try before I bought.
I hadn’t been in the city centre for a good while just because it can get really busy, so I try to do most of my shopping online. So when a friend asked to have lunch I decided to spend a Sunday afternoon before I met up with her at the centre to get my nails done and to check out this other one. As I walked into this huge departmental store it started raining and I had parked somewhere a few blocks away. It was not the weather for walking and as usual quite busy but I was determined to at least get my nails done and find one of the perfumes I was looking for so I braced myself after my nails and walked to the departmental store in the drizzle. When I got in I asked in the perfume department if they stocked this one I knew had a store in the city centre, I was told that they only sold from their boutique shops and so I was directed to their location.
As I got out heading towards the location I was directed to, I could not believe my eyes and was so incredibly ecstatic as I almost run to the door. There in front of me, was the a boutique store for the other brand that I thought was only based in London. As I pushed through the door with a huge smile on my face and so happy as I expressed my surprise at seeing the shop there, the shop attendant couldn’t help but ask.
“Is everything ok?”
“Everything is wonderful right now” I replied I didn’t know you had a shop here I said.
“We’ve been here not that long” she replied.
After exchanging a few pleasantries she helped me with some scents and I found the one I wanted to buy.
I purchased what I had been looking for plus got a free tester set for a new release. I left this shop very happy and headed towards the other one I was initially directed to. I found it and also found the scent I was looking for, how could such a grim day outside be so full of wonderful surprises I thought. I know this is You I whispered to myself just so grateful.
I was so happy I decided to go into town that day for not only did I get to try out the different perfumes I wanted to purchase I also spent a great time with my friend and her husband and had my lunch paid for. It was such a rewarding day I couldn’t help but think how following a hunch can turn out to be such a beautiful serendipitous experience and one that left me in awe and utter gratitude. So tell me what are some of the serendipitous moments that have made you smile in gratitude, I’d love to hear yours in the comments.
