This is so beautiful Sheila, thank you for sharing. A real declaration of self-compassion and kindness, something which is becoming increasingly harder.❤️
I found the concept of passive abandonment really intriguing as it’s not something I have come across before, but it really made me think about how my actions can at times fall into that.
Thank you Georgie, this means a lot to me. I was also surprised when I first encountered that and the self- regulation such an eye opener. I’m glad you liked it and it made you think about some of your actions. I’m grateful because we can learn from each other. Thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤️🙏🏽
This was such a powerful and beautifully written piece. I really appreciated how you wove personal storytelling with science—it made the message feel both emotionally resonant and grounded in truth. The compassion letter was incredibly moving and a reminder of something so many of us forget: to treat ourselves with the same care we offer others.
Your structure kept me engaged from start to finish—beginning with a heartfelt conversation, moving into reflection, and ending with practical tools and resources. I especially loved how you explained the science of self-compassion in such an accessible and comforting way.
This isn’t just a post—it’s a gentle invitation to pause, reflect, and begin healing. Thank you for sharing your journey so openly. ❤️✨️
Saira thank you! Sometimes sharing something vulnerable and sensitive is not the easiest but when I read a comment from others about what I’ve shared I then realise why this was important for me to share.
This journey has not been easy and I know most will agree but I always took that responsibility to make myself better when I knew better.
I remember my uncle once telling me not to take all that I had experienced for granted because my story might just be what someone else needed to hear to help them through something.
That was something that got me over my fear of sharing and now to read comments like yours reinforces it all. Thank you once again for your support and sharing you thoughts ❤️🙏🏽
My pleasure, Sheila! Thank you for writing and sharing such an empowering and inspiring post. I completely understand how difficult it can be to open up about something so personal and vulnerable, but I’m so glad you did—your story carries so much strength, and it clearly resonates with many of us who’ve felt invisible to ourselves too.
Your uncle’s advice is so powerful—your story truly is a gift to others. It’s helping people reflect, pause, and begin to heal in ways you may not even fully see yet. I’m genuinely grateful you chose to tell it. Looking forward to reading your next one! ❤️🥰
Beautifully written and expressed... Thank you 🙏
Thank you for reading and for your kind words 🙏🏽
